We give you three budgets to use at Charlie from day one, because we want everyone to have equal access to the areas we believe are essential to doing our jobs well. This policy outlines what these budgets are and how you can use them. All of our budgets are 'use-it-or-lose-it' i.e. they don't roll over into the next time period if unused.

Learn Your Way

A central L&D budget to support with more expensive activities contributing solely to learning and development, such as training courses, coaching etc.

Everything you need to know on the Centralised L&D budget:

You can propose any learning opportunity you and your manager believe will benefit your development and contribute to Charlie's goals.

• Learning requests should align to your personal development plan or role responsibilities
• You should feel comfortable evidencing how the outcome of the learning request will have a positive impact on Charlie’s business goals (i.e. the ROI of the request)

For requests over £500, Charlie will cover a percentage of the fees with the remaining percentage sourced from your Work Your Way budget or personal funds.

• While we're open to all requests, to ensure fairness, we're unlikely to support requests above £3000, but if you have a request in mind above £3,000 please still come and chat with us.
• The percentage of coverage will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. We hope that this approach encourages requests to be driven by genuine professional development needs and ensures equal access to the fund for everyone. The determined percentage will depend on the cost and return on investment relevant to the business's needs at that time.

If your learning request exceeds £1000, we'll need you to agree to a learning agreement.

• If you leave within 12 months of your agreement starting, a pro-rata fee for the money contributed by Charlie will be due for repayment.

Work Your Way 💻

Budget: £750Allowance time period: 6th April - 5th AprilUsed for: you can use your WYW budget for anything that you can explain to your manager as equipment to facilitate doing your job / learning and developing within your current role. Your budget can be spent on:

• all L&D; conferences, books, course, travel and accommodation to and from these
• all home set-up and work equipment
• co-working passes
